W03 Assignments: Test Cases Execution
Overview
By now you will have generated test cases for the first version of the Chamber of Commerce web site. It will now be your job as a tester to execute the test cases and report on the results.
Once you have finished executing all the test cases, you can generate a report in RTM that shows how many tests passed and how many failed for each test plan. It will be your task this week to furnish the product manager (the instructor) with the test execution reports for all three test plans so he/she can determine if the MVP is ready to deploy.
Instructions
- Resources
- Refer to the page Using RTM to Execute Tests and Report Results for specific instructions on how to execute tests and report results as required below.
- When a test fails you will need to create a defect report. Use the Defect Report Tutorial. Review the tutorial however, this week you are not required to create bug reports for failed tests. Next week you will create defect reports.
- In RTM, create a new test execution for each test plan.
- Execute all the test cases for the Common, Home and Join test plans.
- Execute your tests against the 1.0 version of the Teton Chamber of Commerce web site found here
- Document the results of executing the tests in the RTM execution you created.
- Each test case should be marked as pass or fail.
Hint: Not all of your tests should pass. The MVP version of the site will have some differences from the requirements and acceptance criteria which should be relatively easy to find.
Submission
Generate Test Executions Report, and submit as your assignment.
- Generate your report from the Text Execution Folder that contains your executions for this week.
- All three test plan executions should be included in this single report.
