Overview

A career in web frontend development is a rewarding and challenging field. The demand for web developers is expected to continue to grow by double digits in the next decade, much faster than the average for all occupations.

Researching current job postings can help students gain insights into the skills, technologies, tools, and overall requirements employers are seeking in a specific industry and with specific job titles. This will help to align a learning path with industry trends. It is never too early to start researching and applying for positions in which you have an interest.

  1. Find a minimum of two full-time job descriptions in your region that have acceptable titles. Be sure to read the descriptions and only report on jobs that are intern, entry, or at most, junior level.
  2. On the Microsoft Teams channel named "Job Descriptions", post a summary of the job descriptions in one thread by providing the following:
    • The name and location of company.
    • The job title.
    • A URL to the job posting.
    • A summary of qualifications including a list of the specific technologies required for the job.
    • The posted required education, if any.
  3. Review your peer's posts and provide feedback on one job description that interests you or that you find peculiar.
