W04 Team: Peer Evaluation

This peer review and evaluation is an opportunity to reflect honestly on your own contributions and to give each teammate specific, constructive feedback. Your role as a peer reviewer is to be candid, fair, and encouraging.

Use respectful, professional language. The most helpful feedback is grounded in concrete examples — it gives your teammates something actionable to build on.

"My dear brothers and sisters, how we treat each other really matters! How we speak to and about others at home, at church, at work, and online really matters. Today, I am asking us to interact with others in a higher, holier way. Please listen carefully. “If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy” that we can say about another person—whether to his face or behind her back—that should be our standard of communication."
– President Russell M. Nelson "Peacemakers Needed", General Conference, April 2023

Rating Criteria

Rate yourself and each group member on a scale of 1 (Improvement Needed) to 5 (Excellent) for each criterion below. Consider writing your feedback comments first, then assigning a rating — you may find the rating becomes clearer once you've put your thoughts into words.

Example Feedback: Marco, if I could offer one suggestion going forward, it would be to prioritize group meetings. Your contributions are valuable when you're present and engaged — when you miss a meeting without letting us know in advance, the whole group feels it.

Instructions

  1. Download the Peer Review document (docx).
  2. For each criterion, write your feedback first, then assign a rating (1-5) for yourself.
  3. For each teammate, provide a rating (1-5) and written feedback for each criterion.

The following will disqualify your review from receiving full credit:

    • Giving every teammate a 5 in every category — this is the clearest sign the review was not done honestly.
    • Copy-pasting identical comments across multiple teammates.
    • Single-word or filler comments ("great," "good job," "fine") with no specific detail.
    • Leaving your self-review blank or skipping it entirely.
    • Providing a rating for a criterion but leaving the comment field empty.
  4. Delete any unused team member sections from the document.
  5. Save the completed document.

Submission Instructions

Submit your completed peer review document in Canvas. It will be reviewed, and an aggregate score will be determined for each criterion. The evaluator has the authority to adjust rubric scores based on the overall peer evaluations and comments.

Need to revise your review? Replace your submission in Canvas before the deadline.
