W07 Prove: Course Outcome Assessments

Overview

Now that you have arrived at the end of this course, it is time to:

  1. self assess your personal development with examples from the course, and
  2. self assess your skills development with application examples.
  3. Create a video highlighting the work listed in the documents.

Course Outcomes Assessment Documents

Review the Documents

Take some time to read through the entire instructions in both assessments. You should complete the following:

  1. List any additional work to the tables.
  2. Ensure that the tables contain all the work you will use to demonstrate your mastery of the outcomes.
  3. Ensure that any links you have provided are working and render publicly.

Create a Video

Create a video where you highlight the work you have listed. You may use any video recording software that you prefer, including Loom or Zoom, as long as you can share the video recording with your instructor.

This video should be short—likely less than 4-5 minutes.

Follow these steps in your video:

  1. Introduce yourself. Your face must be present for this part of the video.

    (Including your face in this video fulfills a requirement that BYU-Idaho has for offering certificates online.)

  2. Discuss experiences from your Personal Development Outcomes table.

    You do not need to discuss everything in this table, but take the time to highlight some general themes.

  3. Demonstrate your working code for the Skill Development Outcome.

    For this part, you should briefly demonstrate each item that you have included in the table. You should show the code working in your browser as you discuss it.

  4. Save and publish your video.

  5. Make sure that the instructor and grader can view this video.

    Hint: If you open an "incognito" or private browser window and navigate to your video link, it will make sure your video link does not depend on you being logged in.

Make sure to include the application link in the place indicated at the top of the skills assessment document.

Submission

Once you have completed the two documents and the video as described above, return to I-Learn to upload your documents to the appropriate areas.
