The following activity will help you to research and summarize job postings in this industry.
Prepare
Researching current job postings can help you gain insights into the skills, technologies, tools, and overall requirements employers are seeking in a specific industry and with specific job titles. This will help to align your own learning path with the industry trends. It is never too early to start researching and applying for positions in which you have an interest.
There are many job posting sites available that allow you to filter jobs by location, type (on-site, hybrid, remote), employment type (full time, part time, contract), posted date, etc. Some of the most popular include:
- LinkedIn – with keyword and experience level filters
- Indeed – with job type and level filters

Activity Instructions
In this activity, you will research job postings for web frontend developers. You will summarize the qualifications and requirements of the jobs you find and share them with the class.
- Using the sites above or any other relevant service, find a minimum of two full-time job descriptions that meet the following requirements:
- a web frontend developer or designer type of position
- a internship, entry level, or at most, junior level position
- the position can be full-time or a contract position
- located in your region or desired location
- They are posted within the last 30 days.
- On the Microsoft Teams channel named "Job Descriptions", post a
summary of the job descriptions in one thread and provide the following:
- The name and location of company.
- The job title.
- A URL to the job posting.
- A summary of qualifications including a list of the specific technologies required for the job.
- The posted required education, if any.
- Review your peer's posts and provide feedback on one job description that interests you or that you find interesting.
