Welcome to the Software Testing course. Throughout your learning you have worked hard to build systems. This class will teach you techniques to validate your systems against design goals, ensure updates do not break the system, and certify your system can meet its demands.

The course covers a lot of ground and provides a lot of hands-on experience. When you have successfully completed the course you will have a good understanding of the testing industry, its tools and career opportunities.

Each week you will read a chapter from the book Introduction to Software Testing, by Brother Quinn R. Briggs, who just happens to be one of our great faculty members at BYU-Idaho! This book is custom written for this course. It has been written in condensed format to give you the information as succinctly as possible. Each chapter could be 5 times a long… If you find yourself desiring to learn more about a topic, do a little research on your own, there is a lot of information freely available on the internet.

Getting help

You will use a lot of tools and techniques to complete this class. The instruction materials are quite thorough, but you might find you need additional help at times. You can get help a lot of ways. Here are a few:

Pace yourself

There is a lot to do in this course, if you wait till the last minute to do your assignments, you will probably not meet with success. Start your assignments early so you have time to figure things out. Remember there is a LOT of hands-on work in this class.
